Description:  The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international organization with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future. JRS programs are currently found in 56 countries, serving refugees and other forcibly displaced persons in conflict zones and detention centers, on remote borders and in busy cities. They advocate for the rights of refugees and work to protect the most vulnerable. JRS teams are made up of and serve people from diverse faith traditions, or of no religious faith, and are united by belief in the dignity of every person and our world as the common home of all.

Why We Invest: As of the end of 2019, the number of displaced people globally was at a record 79.5 million. JRS provides humanitarian relief in emergency displacement situations, runs livelihood and psychosocial support programs in detention centers and refugee camps, and delivers education/skill development programs to aid opportunities for integration into host communities. Their humanitarian focus regardless of faith is a model for religious charitable giving.
