RH Capital Fund II

Date: 2021

Asset Class: Venture Capital

Description:  RH Capital invests in businesses innovating solutions for reproductive and maternal health issues impacting low-income women and communities of color in the US. RH Capital was formed by Rhia Ventures, a nonprofit organization focused on improving reproductive health outcomes for women.

Why We Invest: The US has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed countries. Black women are 3x more likely to experience a pregnancy-related death than white women, and 2x more likely to experience a pregnancy-related complication. RH Capital targets investments that would benefit the reproductive and maternal health of low-income women and communities of color in the United States. Moreover, through its relationship with Rhia Ventures, RH Capital brings extensive operational, clinical, technical and investment expertise to its entrepreneurs, helping to maximize chances for success and impact, and part of the profits will flow back to Rhia to continue building the field. This female-founded, -owned and -led venture capital fund contributes to the mere 1-2% of US investment assets that are managed by female or BIPOC owned funds.
